Let Us Have a Personal Conviction to Save Our Nation...

Thank you for joining. Let me welcome you to one of our social networks.

You witnessed with your own eyes how millions of Filipinos suffer, whose homes and crops were devastated by one of the worst catastrophes that hit our land. You saw the lack of capability to provide timely rescue, appropriate emergency shelters, and additional hygiene and sanitation facilities to prevent the spread of diseases into epidemic proportions. You saw how women and children suffer the most.

We invite you to join our ranks. Let us do something for the good of our country and the welfare of our people. We are a multi-faith, multi-sector and non-partisan organization established by patriotic Filipinos at home and abroad to provide relief and humanitarian assistance to victims of natural calamities and man-made disasters, including areas of conflict in the Philippines.

Help us establish a global network. We will channel the aid of Filipinos from other parts of the world. We will encourage international solidarity and people to people cooperation, and appeal directly to the citizens of various countries for their assistance.

Help us strengthen our organizational capabilities. We will not stop at providing relief alone. We will focus on restoring economic activities, and rebuilding lives. We will propose relocation sites for evacuees from chronically affected communities.

Help us raise funds. We will initiate livelihood projects and make funds available for micro-lending activities. We will provide livelihood development and skills training to those who are willing to start anew. Let us hone the indomitable spirit of the Filipino to rise above their present difficulties, rebuild their lives, and develop the resolve to carve a new future.

Be an agent of change. Let us organize an army of volunteers among those who are willing to do their share in the service of our country and our people. Let us unleash the goodness inherent in each one of us. Let us reach out in any way we can, to help our less fortunate brethren pick up the pieces of their broken lives.

Let us Tigerize the Philippines economy. Help transform the Philippines into a stable democracy with a Tiger economy in thirty years. Let us court investors and focus on exports. Let us bring in more dollars by exporting products, not people. This may be accomplished beyond our lifetime, but it is a legacy of excellence that we can leave behind to the next generations of prosperous Filipinos.

May pag-asa! Magkaisa! Sama-sama, tulong-tulong sa pagbangon tungo sa isang magandang bukas!

THE MAY 10, 2010 national election marks the 103rd year of Philippine representative democracy. It should be a benchmark against which we measure the maturity and stability of our democracy.

We have been holding elections since 1907, when we first elected deputies to the Philippine Assembly as an exercise to prepare us for self-government. Despite this long preparation and experience, the May polls fa… Continue

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) on Monday unveiled new safeguards for whistleblowers in a crackdown on corruption.

Bayan calls on government to dismantle paramilitary groups

Philstar.com - Monday, January

MANILA, Philippines - Militant group Bayan today called on the government to dismantle all para-military groups as the election season begins.

"The dismantling of all para-military units and armed civilian groups is imperative if private armies and local warlords are to be [disarmed]. It is a well-known fact that these armed civilians are being used by local politicians as their own private armies. We have seen as much in the Ampatuan massacre,” said Bayan… Continue
